Desiring to prevent dissension, I advised our comrades at Wuhan

to have the seat of Government removed there, and to finish

the 3rd Conference of the Central Executive Committee. But

while the Conference was in progress, the Communists resorted

to military power and agitative measures. They expelled

General Chan Ming Shu, imprisoned Li Chung Kung, Clerk of

the Secretariat of the Central Executive Committee and killed

many others. They proceeded to dictate to the Central Executive Committee, thus depriving the Kuomintang of all its

authority.
